In the studio: Flatout Riding would like your feedback

A new Whakatane start-up needs your help with their logo design. Their is plenty going on in the studio this week, but I'm particulary loving working on the logo design for cool Whakatane based start-up: Flatout Riding.

Mike & the team at Flatout Riding are after a vintage feel, black & white logo that particularly appeals to lovers of classic Norton motorcycles - it must be simple. They will be offering 10 day tours of the Eastern Bay & East Cape (amongst other North Island destinations) aboard their bevvy of 10 beautiful Classic Norton Commandos & intend attracting copious amounts of Australian & British travellers to the town - which is good for all of us. We're nearly there with the logo - the guys have narrowed things down to 2 distinct concepts - what they'd really love is feedback from anyone & everyone that might care to help them out..

They have decided on a vintage icon that will feature in their branding as a secondary 'graphic element', but are unable to decided between a 'flying motorcycle' logo (an illustration based on an iconic photo of the legendary 'Rollie Free') & another based on a vintage 'pudding bowl' helmet.

The 'flatout' lettering is stylised to mimic the 'Norton' Motorcycles logo so this is set in stone.

What do you think - can you help them out? Any feedback to brendon@lawsigns.co.nz, no matter how brief, will be much appreciated.
